Official American sources now confirms that it was a real nuclear charge that North Korea detonated last week. Although this was not a surprise for us it´s very important for the free world to know that North Korea really are serious about their threats against us. US President Bush has told the world-press that even if it wasn´t a real nuclear charge it would have been rather important to go further with the sanctions against the North Korean regime, just for the purpose to show Kim Jong Il that we don´t want to live under threats from nuclear weapons.
I think that this debate about nuclear weapons are very good and important. But let´s not only discuss North Koreas charges, but also US and British ambitions to be strong nuclear-countries. I really hope that the minister of foreign affairs Carl Bildt will bring this type issues up on the agenda on the meetings he participates in.
